I think I am getting too 'into' Japanese Smileys... they are slowly creeping more and more into my internet lexicon, and it's bothering me less and less. (o_O)

Jon got to Colorado today and bought the new car! He left Denver at about 7:30 and is sleeping somewhere near the middle of Nebraska tonight. He is VERY happy about this car. He has owned more cars in the last 10-15 years than most people will own in their lives, but I kind of think he might keep this one for a while longer than most that he's had. The only car he kept longer than 2 years was the Zebra Car, and that's just because it was, well, the Zebra Car! And for over a year, he did not even have posession of it most of the time. His friend was using it, while Jon still held the title. (It has since been sold to said friend, as was mentioned in a previous post here.)

Wow, what a worthless entry. I am so pathetic. I ACCIDENTALLY stayed at work until 5:30 tonight, and now I am super tired but not in bed because I am too busy updating my LiveJournal. Sheesh.

It got donated to Burning Man in '03! We found it last year near the DPW. Tried to ask one of the guys there why it still had JON'S license plates on it. He was drunk (at like 11 am) and thought we wanted to fight with him... Actually, I did get pretty crabby and started mouthing off.... But anyway, he CLAIMED that it had been bought by a guy from Minnesota who took it back there and then brought it BACK to BRC for BM... Dumbass. They were not new plates, they were JON'S. And we still aren't sure if someone had been forced to pay money for it or what. I don't think so...

What we believe happened is that after he donated the bus to the actual Burning Man Organization, it was then transferred to some individual who was head of something-or-other within the BORG, and he was living in it since he had to be out on the playa for months at a time. Apparently the title had indeed been transferred correctly, because Jon never got any notices that he needed to renew his registration on it. They just never switched the plates. The drunk gutter-punk that we tried to talk to just didn't have any idea what he was talking about, and was making up stories cuz "he just wanted to get riley" (hehe - I JUST talked to Jon about this on the phone, like as I was writing it, and that's literally what he said!)

So, no more Cow Bus. If you're interested, some of the people that lived in it in 2003 (and 2002) were Jon (aka zebracar), onewomanshow, nicotinequeen, and iamsquid. I don't think any of the other people have LJs. I was not there those years, but when I first met Jon (on the internet), I saw the Cow Bus on the website and told him that I would love to live in something like that... (I did not know that he actually DID live in it, so he was VERY impressed and I think that is when he fell in love with me.) (^-^) /smug

I just admitted what a geek I am... I am in a serious LTR with someone I met on the interweb. And the most ironic part of it is that we met through HOT or NOT which we both saw as a really sad web site that glorified shallow people's values (or lack thereof)... so we were both ON it because we each individually thought it would be funny to be part of something that was so NOT us. Hah.

OK, I gotta go shower. I guess Jon hit the road at 5 this morning and will be back home within a half hour! And I wanna go help wax the new car! Wheee!

Okay, I admit it, I'm laughing at you. Not with you. No, that's not right. Actually I'm laughing at "Hot or Not." That's the lamest website I've seen since Menomena.

I met somebody via an internet BBS once, and we ended up being together for 10 years. When people are meant to be together, they can overcome incredible odds in how they meet.

Ha! You CAN'T laugh at me, because I am laughing too! I was laughing when I signed up with the site, I laughed uncomfortably when I actually started chatting with someone off of it, and I laugh every day when I look into his amazing eyes (laugh with JOY - cuz that's my middle name!)

Nah, it's not really like that. It's mostly just me tackling him trying to get a hug, and him teasing me because I am clumsy and tend to talk without thinking, resulting in things like "I had a fun time with you tomorrow." And a lot of mutual griping about the world. We get cranky together. Now THAT'S love. ;)

I think it was a Google search for "bad websites."

"Lame websites" just brings up a bunch of info about MP3 encoding.
