amberica | RAWR!!!! *really cranky*

OK, this is about knitting, and yes, it IS in my knitblog, but I am just pissed enough to want to write about it here, too.

I STILL CAN'T FIND THEM! And by "them" I mean my US7 needle tips from my Denise Needles, and the 14" cable from the same. I have only HAD the set since December 30th. And I KNOW they were all in there. I finished the Moebius scarf on January 2nd, and I used the size 11 tips for that. I ultimately linked 3 cables together when working on that piece, and I have NO idea if the 14" was one of them. My notes say something about using a 50" needle, but I can't figure out how I came up with that length now! lol

The real problem is that I SWEAR to GOD I never needed size 7 tips for ANYTHING yet. I mean, what would I have used them for?? None of the yarns in my current stash call for that size, none of my patterns call for that size.... I wonder if I just absentmindedly grabbed them out of the kit to try some new stitch pattern that I was curious about seeing what it looked like knitted up...... So WHY would I use the 14" cable.... Hmm....

OK, I probably used the 14" because it was the longest one available at the time, which means the 19" and 16" ones were in use. This could reasonably be assumed to have been when I was making the Moebius... EXCEPT.... More recently I used the 19" and the 10½ tips for the capelet that I just finished on Thursday... Just 2 days ago. Hmmm... I started that project on ~~Jan 2nd I think~~ January 6. I'll have to look in my notebook for that. And when I finished it up and wove in the ends, I put the needles & cable away in the kit and THAT'S when I noticed the 7s and the 14" were not in there. Hmmmmm........

So this means they probably left the box between ~~January 2~~ January 6 and January 19. That's 17 13 days. What have I done in those 17 13 days? Hah. Good question, because I have NO friggin idea. Looking at my calendar... it looks like I went to Craft n Chat at Crafty Planet on January 10. OK, that could be a possibility. What did I take that night? I know I took my 2 skeins of Simply Soft and my green US8 straights that I'm using for Ripley's scarf. I had my Kacha-Kacha too... I had my Feather & Fan Shawl, which is on a bamboo circ, so that's ok. ..... I had... hmm... NOT the bouclé capelet, because the ball of yarn is bigger than my head.... ummm..... and I took the plastic baggie with the beginnings of Jon's ridiculous Angel Hair Sock(s). I worked on those and the Shawl, but I never worked on the scarf. I just wanted to show it off a little bit. I really doubt it, but I wonder if the 7s and 14" somehow got tossed in my bag that night and maybe somehow got dropped when I was there?..... hmmmmmm........

The other thing I brought there was 2 packages of blue el-wire for Tia. Those came out of the giant shopping bags that are in the spare room on the guest bed right now. I wonder if I took them in there when I went to get the el-wire, and maybe dropped it in one of the giant bags.....?

Ack. This is driving me nuts. I feel like a computer stuck on a bad algorithm or something. I keep looking in the same places over and over again. I think I've looked in the spare room already, but I'll check again. Maybe I should go to Crafty Planet and see if Trish found anything that night...... Ugggghhhhh I'm gonna get sick over this.
