I was NEVER that loud in college
Sep. 17th, 2004 10:38 pmI am testing a new client here. Somehow the one I had just stopped working right. I rebooted. I uninstalled. I reinstalled. I rebooted. Nothing worked, so I got a different one that seems (so far) to be a lot nicer anyway. Nyah.
The assholes next door are having yet another party. Stupid damn drunk boistrous college kids and their stupid damn drunk squealing girls. I hate them. I hate them all. At least this time it's a Friday and for once I DON'T have to work the next morning. What really sucks is that when winter comes and they have to go inside, and maybe won't even party as much (yeah, right), I won't be able to sleep with my windows open anyway, so who gives a shit? They win. They always win. Why the fuck do the stupid drunk assholes always fucking win??? You might be able to tell I'm more than a little bitter about this.
I wonder... at what point is it a noise disturbance and when do I actually have a right to call the police? I've done it before, when I lived in Moorhead... but that was a large building and they were partying super-loud right on the other side of my wall. When it actually woke me up from a deep sleep in the middle of the night, then I KNEW it was appropriate to call the police... But now... They are in the house next door... and if my windows weren't open, maybe it wouldn't be so bad.... But GODDAMMIT! I have a right to have my windows open! It's actually nice out for once, and I should be able to enjoy the night air without it being polluted by the hollering drunk assholes and their squealing females.
I am so glad I have never been the type to go for those kinds of parties. I can't stand those types of people - the ones that have no consideration for anyone but themselves. The ones that have the most inane "conversations" that I can hear from a block away. Those goddamn girls who laugh with the idiot giggle of a child or a moron to attract the attention of those idiot beer-slugging shitheads who don't even care that those girls, as stupid as they are, are also human beings just like themselves.... although some nights I question that too. Some archaeologists theorize that Homo sapiens neanderthalensis was not totally out-competed for resources by Homo sapiens sapiens, but that some inter-breeding occured and we still carry some of their blood in our history.... Could these beefy morons be the descendants of those beefy and unadaptible morons?
I really should check myself. Neanderthals had brains at least as large as ours, often larger, that were just DIFFERENT. They were not stupid, just not as able to adapt to varying conditions as anatomically modern humans. But they were good at what they did, so they should be respected for that. Nevertheless, these morons next door are VERY good at being drunk and annoying, and I just can't bring myself to respect that. No. The Neanderthals probably had a better sense of respect for others than these guys do.
I need to stop ranting and do something productive. I have a lot of packing I could do. I need to get some filing done. I could shut the windows and just live with the stagnant air... or I could call the police... But that would be ranting again. I need to get out of this cycle. NOW. Good night.
