Weekend in Fargo
Jul. 11th, 2005 03:38 pmWell, here it is Monday, and I'm back at work. I had a nice weekend in Fargo, even though
zebracar couldn't make the trip with me as originally planned. I DID get to see
frino and
lazysoftrain though, and we spent 2.5 hours hanging out and talking and talking and talking! It was SOOOO nice. I bet we could have spent the whole dang weekend talking, but I had to attend the whole family reunion thing too. However, the 3 of us HAVE to figure out a plan for getting some time together that is JUST for us, and not on the side of other activities. (Besides me having a family reunion,
frino also had a bunch of obligations that she had to attend to while she was in town, too.)
The family stuff was pretty nice. It was a gathering of all the cousin's in my dad's generation (well, all who could make the trip), and I don't think they had had that many of them together in one place in at least 40 years. Wow. It seemed like everyone had a really good time though, and that was nice to see. Me, I was just exhausted by it all. I don't do well with large groups, and although this was only a couple dozen at the time I was there, it was still kind of stressful. Nice, but tiring! And I was only there for part of it! I guess some people rolled into town on Thursday and then left on Sunday. I got there late Friday night, so I missed the BBQ that evening, and really only participated in the banquet that was on Saturday. I didn't even get to see everyone that attended! Apparently some relatives were at the BBQ on Friday night but not the banquet on Saturday night, so I didn't even get to meet 'n greet them all. Oh well.
