There was this thing at CompUSA yesterday morning from 7-9 am for employees of Veritas, where we could get cost + 7% on lots of big ticket items, so I did some checking around online for what kind of camera I would get if the price is right (I like the looks of the Canon PowerShot A85), and got some price quotes from Froogle and Pricewatch.com. When I went to CompUSA yesterday morning though, the special price was likt $259 down from regular $279!!!!!

OK, When I was browsing prices online, I found the SAME exact camera BRAND NEW for $195! WTF?! lol - I'm just SO glad I checked around first, so I didn't just give in and buy it thinking I was getting a good deal. The more I think about it, the more I actually think I am just going to do all my shopping for things like this online. I can usually find much better deals, and I get a great variety of choices, too.

Hell, I just got a new printer cartridge for $13.99 thru Amazon! And it is brand new, actual HP (not a copycat), and the expiration date is not until August of 2005, which is still pretty dang good. Especially since I usually pay around $30 for the same cartridge from a store (if I'm lucky and get a good sale!)

So yeah, I'm all about the internet shopping now. I wasn't really AGAINST it before, but I also wasn't too big into it, and now I think this camera experience has really changed my thinking a lot. However, since I am just now beginning to pay off the debt I built up during my move, I am going to wait on buying it for a while longer.

Yay for Amazon, Pricewatch and Froogle! (and all the others, too!)

I know a very cool place where to buy DVD's.... -me.
Amazon Visa is very cool too. $30 off first purchase, $25 certificate for every $2500 spent. Free rental car & accidental insurance... whatever.

If a cheapskate like me EVER spent $2500 in my life I would deserve a HELL of a lot more than 1% back! Besides, Discover does the same thing, but they just told me this week that the lowest they can get my APR is 11.49%. Stupid, considering my other card is a FIXED 5.9% APR. So of course, I just transferred my Discover balance over to my MBNA MasterCard. Who wouldn't? I'm only using the Discover card for a few purchases I'm going to pay off right away, but even then the Cashback "award" is a total JOKE.

I'm in a grouchy mood. See my most recent entry for an explanation.

I buy movies in order to sell them, so I can just use this card for this purpose and still get the certificate :)

Oh, and I told you, I don't buy DVD's - I watch Jon's ;) - and he gets them thru NetFlix. Yay for NetFlix, too.
