I think I did something bad... or idiotically bold (?), depending on how you look at it...?

I snarked one of the posts made by one of the snarks! And the group is PISSED! I think it's because I'm not really a "regular" over there, plus they didn't really "agree" with my post. Oops! ..... I know I've seen members snarked before, and they are usually relatively good-natured about it. I think it was a mistake to do my first "real" post in that community on one of them. :(

I guess I learned my lesson though! I thought it was a place to just vent frustrations, and I did find the original post frustrating, but apparently not in a way that enough people could agree with. Really.... I don't CARE how long men have been knitting. I REALLY DON'T. I know they've been knitting for hundreds of years... I just feel really bad now... I didn't mean to piss people off, but I think I did. I guess it's best if I keep my frustrations to myself and hope someone else says something. I do like reading that group, it's good to have it as a "filter", so to speak... but I guess I might not really have the "hang" of making posts there. Oh well! At least I'm not going to chicken out and make a "flounce post". I still like it there, even if they have a bad impression of me now.

I think I tend to fare better in the background. ;)

ETA: I think this might be the closest to "drama on LJ" that I've ever come - it sucks :(

No, it's ok - but thanks for offering! There was a slight misunderstanding, and it's all better now. They are pretty good about not letting things get too ridiculous and nasty over there, and really the only problem was that a lot of people didn't realize my only actual "snark" was that I didn't CARE whether men knit, or used to knit, or WHO knits! I just wish there was more "useful" content in knitting sometimes, and the post I snarked was FAR from what I'd consider "useful".

But I think some people understood what I was really saying, so it's all good. Either way, the last thing I'd ever want would be to cause any trouble anywhere... and somehow I think ripping people that I really kind of enjoy to shreds would be trouble!

you're a saint. i'm very vengeful when a friend is sad. i think that makes me a sinner. ;o)

i get annoyed when people jump to conclusions.
i think people want to think bad of everyone else.
it makes them feel better about themselves & removes the guilt when they make nasty replies.

i seldom go to knitting. it was too hard to find helpful posts amongst the fluff.

You are so right. I stop in to knitting very rarely too... there's only so much I can take of those Fun Fur scarves!!! I wish there was a knitting community that was strictly useful tips and info... but then it would probably attract a bunch of questions, and usually the people asking questions want to know how to PURL or CAST ON or something simple like that. What a shame.

And BY the WAY!!!! Today I got the wool you sent me!! It is SOOOOO soft! And I actually like the colors - I'm not usually too fond of pastels and baby colors in general, but I loooove the purples and blues and yellows in this! I'm going to have to take some pictures and post them for all my friends to see!

Yeah, I think it's becoming a bit of an obsession... or addiction... or some kind of sickness! At least it's somewhat productive, and it's not interfering with my normal life... YET!
