ambericaI just ate a fresh pear. I bought 3 big ones the other day since they were on sale for 88 cents a pound and put them in a paper bag on the counter to ripen up a bit. It was PERFECT. I like fruits best at room temperature, not refrigerated. First off, my teeth don't like chewing cold fruits, but more importantly, the flavors are so much more robust when they aren't chilled!
That pear was a big treat. It's funny how little things like that can make your day feel so pleasant.
