We got the Doggie Fever
Apr. 25th, 2006 01:30 pmThe need for a dog in my life is getting way too strong since we started spending so much time at the new place. There's just so much OPEN SPACE that needs to be run through and pooped on! ;)
Actually, it's a very nice, dog-friendly neighborhood. Dee has an elderly Golden Retriever who sits out in the yard most of the day, just kind of smiling at the world and occassionally trotting around and greeting neighbors who come by to visit. One of the girls from the opposite side of the development introduced us to a spunky little Bichon-looking dog after he walked right over and into our garage to see what Jon was up to! :D We really like the way the 7 houses and their surrounding yards and land are all pretty much one big communal area that everyone cares for and enjoys together. It's very relaxed and friendly, dogs included!
All that being said now, we found this listing today, and although this dog is a NON-FEMALE and a NON-POODLE (*gasp*), he does sound like he pretty much has the qualities, training, and personality we have been keeping our eyes open for (not to mention, he's very pretty - awww!) Plus, we are big advocates of pet adoption. We requested an application to get started on the screening process and see if this dog might be a good match for us and our lifestyle. If not, no problem. We'd rather have the "right dog" than just adopt one just because we really really want one.
