One of the good things about a longer commute

This morning I left the house for work like 20 minutes late, but I still got to the office at the same time as usual! I didn't speed, I didn't change anything about the way I drive. There just wasn't any traffic like there is most days, probably because it's Friday, and because it was a little later in the morning. Just a few minutes can make a HUGE difference - it's crazy!

So yeah, that's one really nice thing about having to drive 25 miles each way - it allows for a lot of variance in drive-times depending on what day it is, or what time of day it is. But you can never really count on any of that, so I generally just try to leave at the same time every day, and if I get here early, then that's all the better (I guess..?)

I left the house every morning at 7am during the school year. My arrival time varied between 7:36 (just after Paul Harvey: News and Comment) and 8:15 depending on weather.

ZOWIE! I totally forgot about weather, but I bet that's going to be a huge factor too, maybe even as big as traffic. Thanks for the reminder!
