OMG I need to name my computer, and then I need to get more computers and name them too. Yeah.

I am up past my bedtime again. This whole weekend has been messed up as far as sleeping goes. And I've been gassy as a mofo - not just loud and fun, but NASTY and STANKY too. Either I have been eating too much dairy or some other food that is not being digested properly (maybe I should be paying more attention to what I'm eating here...), OR I am getting sick. I hope it is not the latter.

Went to poker night with some Veritas people on Friday night, bringing Jon along with me. It was a $50 buy-in for half a dozen people, and Jon won!!! Well, he won $200 and the second-place winner got $100. (I didn't play that game. But I did play in a $10 tournament after that. Got some really good hands, but still lost. Oh well - still fun! I believe Jon took 2nd place in that tournament, but it was a winner-take-all payout.) Fun night. Didn't get home until 2 am! And the best part is that the Veritas guys really liked Jon, and they are putting him on the email list for future tournaments. This is great because they are good people, good players, non-smokers, and just generally in a better position in their lives than some of the people he's been hanging out with lately. One person in particular is falling into a lot of serious problems, and Jon is pretty sick of dealing with all that crap. I can't go into detail about it, but it is very seriously NOT something cool at all. (I'm as sick of it as Jon is, probably more actually, and I'm happy to do anything I can to help grow his social circle, like introducing him to people from my work that he would get along with.)

OK, goodnight. I'll sleep on what to name my computer. I'll have to think of names for Jon's 'puters too, and his server will also need a name.

Sometimes, when I am feeling adventurous (read bored), I like to try different flavors of Ramen Noodle Soups. Like a few months ago, when I had an interesting experience with Chicken and Mushroom flavor, or the nasty-ass Lime-and-Something-or-Another that I never opted to write here about. This does not change the fact that Ramen wreaks havoc on my intestines. It does. But I eat it once in a while, nevertheless.

This evening, I didn't feel like cooking, so I decided to boil a couple cups of water for yet another bowel-wrenching bowl of Ramen. This time around, I selected "Oriental" flavored Ramen. I've had this kind before, and seen it in the store every time I shop. But it wasn't until this evening that I asked myself, "Self, just what is "Oriental" supposed to taste like???" I mean, Chicken tastes like chicken, Beef tastes like beef, Chicken and Mushroom tastes like feet. But "Oriental"? Is it supposed to taste like a rug? ***sipping a spoonful of broth*** I guess it kind of tastes like a rug, but I've never tasted an Oriental rug, or any other kind for that matter. ***eating some noodles*** Meh. It tastes salty, just like every other bowl.

This is why my mood is "Shocked":
I have Hardball (MSNBC) on right now. They are talking about a 13-year-old who used a baseball bat to beat a 15-year-old to death after the older boy teased him about pitching a losing game in "pony league" baseball. Oh. My. God. WTF ever happened to playing games (sports) for fun, man? Jesus.

I think this Ramen kind of reminds me of the taste of soy sauce...

I was thinking about the "Which website are you?" quiz, and I wanted to see the list of possible answers again, so I went to the quiz, paged thru to the end without answering any questions, and this is the "result" I got for doing that:

You are under construction You like to go through quizzes without answering all the questions. You are incomplete.
Which Website are You?

LMAO!!!!

You are msn.comYou are many things to many people. You try to find what people are looking for, but you're not very good at it. You suck.
Which Website are You?

Well this is so weird. First I am Windows XP, and now I am also MSN.com.... as much as I tend to hate the Evil Empire, something in me will always love it like I used to. I can admit to that.

Today I realized that putting gasoline in one's car is a lot like gambling. Well, a little, anyway.

Before I went back to work from lunch today, I decided to put a little gas in the car. I only put in $10 worth (still less than half a tank at $2.10/gallon!) in case it came down again. Sure enough, I just got home from work and that same station by my house is now down to $2.08/gallon! Should I top off the tank now that it's lower? Or should I wait for it to MAYBE go even lower, running the risk of it making another 15-cent jump overnight like I've seen it do before?!

It's just like gambling. Now that the price has come down a little, I am slightly "ahead" (to use the term VERY loosely). Topping off the tank at this price would be like taking my winnings and walking away from the table/slot machine/roulette wheel/whatever! But I am still kind of eager to stick around and take the gamble that I might win ever bigger, like maybe $2/gallon! Then again, by holding out for more, I also risk losing more, like if the price goes up and I just didn't take what I had and go with it.

I'm rambling too much. My blood sugar is low. I'm not thinking clearly. But that's what I was thinking about.

It's funny. It seems like whenever I want to read random people's LiveJournals, I get a disproportionately large number of Russian ones. Weird.

Just ate some takeout from Dino's, this totally GRAVY Greek fast-food place down on Snelling and Larpenteur. OMG, I want to die, it was so good. I have to go there way more often. Seriously. Die. Good. Mmmmmm.

Wanna go to sleep now. Soooo satisfied.........

OK, I've decided to be really trendy and cool and start audioblogging... maybe. Once I decide I am motivated enough to start doing this, you will be able to find my audio posts HERE, at least until I figure out how to put them directly on my LJ. Not that I've even looked into it yet. But hey. I'm all about starting things passionately and then letting my interest rapidly fade as something else catches my attention.

Gravy.

This is the doctor who saved my life almost 4 years ago. Thank you, Dr. Hushka! :)

*Edit* I will post another entry later with more details about that night. I am almost positive that the fever I had is what caused the memory problems I have now.

Yesterday was like 76 degrees here in the Cities. And I was here at work. It seems like I'm at work like 40 hours every WEEK. Ha.

So anyway, we had a very nice thunderstorm that hit rather suddenly and woke me up at 3:00 this morning. There was even hail. I could hear it. I laid in bed thinking, "Oh great, now I'm going to have big holes in my sunroof in addition to the driver's side mirror that is still being held on with duct tape.

Yeah, I forgot to mention a couple weeks ago that I bought the bike I was talking about buying. As I may or may not have said before, it is a Schwinn Jaguar (that is one of their first cruiser designs) and it is super super comfy and nice. I went for a ride this evening, couple miles. Good stuff. I think I am going to raise the seat back up an inch or two so my arms and legs extend just a bit more while I'm riding... But MAYUN I love sitting up so straight in a big fat wide cruiser seat like that! It's like riding a dream! Well, not really. But definitely like riding a super comfy cruiser bike. I love how sleek and minimal the design of it is. It has seven speeds, which is probably a good thing, even though originally I just wanted three. So handy, but still minimalistic.

Now all I've gotta do is get the headlight and tail light from my Amazon wishlist (or will someone maybe get them for me? Pretty please?), and then a rear rack and basket (or maybe a front basket... but I'd really prefer rear.) But yeah, those lights are imperative. I want to be safe if I'm out at or past dusk.

WEATHER IN ROSEVILLE TODAY WAS BEAUTIFUL AGAIN! I heard it got up to 78 degrees in some areas!! BEAUTY! And apparently, the average temp for this date is something like 50, so we are really lucky. I just hope this doesn't mean we're in for a dreadfully oppressive heat all summer....

Today marks the beginning of smoke free restaurants and bars in the Metro Area! Wahoo!!!! Well, some bars, depending on what county they are in, might be able to keep the smoking... but that doesn't matter, since I'm not much of a bar fan anyway.

What I'm REALLY excited about is not having to smell disgusting cigarette smoke in a restaurant while I'm eating. The first time Jon and I went to Khan's, we stood for 20 minutes waiting for a table while a guy at a table near the entrance kept lighting up. It was horrible. Disgusting. I am so excited to not ever have to request a table for "Non-smoking or whatever is available first," while secretly praying that I don't end up in the smoking section... and still knowing that I am hungry enough to have to put up with it if I need to. Now I will NEVER have to put up with it again!

Even now, as I write, at 9:30 PM it is still 60 degrees!! Jon and I sat on his porch swing after work this evening. Then we went for a drive with the sunroof open and a warm fragrant breeze kissing our faces. :) He wanted to show me a residential lot for sale that he is interested in buying. I have not been to thrilled with any of the other lots he's looked at, but this one is just beautiful! It's actually IN Roseville, and you can't get better than that for location, and it's probably less than 5 miles away from the neighborhood that we both live in, just off of Hwy 36! The lot is at the end of a cul-de-sac in a very nice residential neighborhood (not out in the boonies and backwoods like some of the places he's looked at - yuck!) and there neighborhood has lots of very large old trees, which is something I always feel makes a place feel more 'homey' and, ummm...... established, I guess. All the houses are nice and well-maintained, and some of them are really quite huge! And there is a nice little lake about a block or 2 away from the lot he showed me. Of course, there are little lakes scattered all over here in the Cities, but it is still nice.

Roseville is a HIGHLY desirable place to live in the Twin Cites area. It is centrally located, but not as "urban" as, say, Minneapolis proper. My apartment here is 1 mile away from Jon's place in one direction, and 2.3 miles away from my work in the other direction. If I ever do move, I would like to stay as close to this area as possible. You just can't get much better than Roseville! *sigh* *sappy grin* *batting eyelashes*

Oh hey! On a totally different note, I found out about half an hour ago that Johnnie Cochran died!!! HOLY CRAP! I thought that guy was invincible!!!

Chatting with ML the other day, and he says in response to something I said, "So you reject-a the Lord-a!" Admittedly, he meant it kind of in a joking way, but he IS a Christian and also meant it in a serious way, the way any Christian really believes what they are saying when they talk about people "Rejecting the Lord." I always found that to be a rather bizzare statement, but I could never really put my finger on WHY. I think I figured it out a bit after putting some thought into it.
